Nigerian worship leader Kaestrings has joined forces with prolific gospel artist and producer Lyrical HI to release "Here I Am (Acoustic)," a deeply intimate worship single that emerged from a live recording session and carries the raw, unfiltered presence of a room desperate for God.
The song captures the essence of surrender and consecration, built around the central declaration that the presence and glory of God are the sole desire of the worshipper's heart. The collaboration was born from a live recording event held in June 2024 at the Indoor Live Recording With Kaestrings, where the atmosphere was charged with spiritual hunger and spontaneous worship, and the studio version was subsequently produced by Lyrical HI under the LYRICAL HI imprint with distribution handled by FwDigitals.
The official live video, recorded at Family Worship Centre Studios in Wuye, showcases a full band and backing vocal ensemble including musicians such as Sammie Orinya on drums, David Ejila on keyboards, and Segun Funmi on guitars, with post-production by Mr. Greenwox and mixing and mastering by Outluk Mix, while the video was directed by Director Owie with lighting by Nuellightsandfilms.
The lyrics unfold as a prayer of desperation and devotion, repeating the refrain "Your presence is my one desire" and building into moments of spontaneous prayer in tongues, inviting listeners to lift their own cries before the Lord. Kaestrings, who wrote the song, has established himself as a distinctive voice in contemporary Nigerian gospel music through acclaimed releases such as "Desire," "Tare," "The Fear of God," and "Gyara Ni Ya Yesu," with his music often characterized by deep spiritual soaking, Hausa and English lyrical blends, and a sound that bridges traditional African worship with modern production.
Lyrical HI, who served as producer on this release, is a gospel artist known for spiritually grounded productions including "Only You," "Ekpere," and "Fast And Pray," and brings a production sensibility that honors the sacred nature of live worship while presenting it with clarity and emotional depth. Together on "Here I Am," these two artists have created more than a song; they have captured a moment of corporate longing where the boundary between artist and congregation dissolves into unified worship.
The track is particularly significant for worship communities and individuals seeking music that facilitates deep personal encounter, as its extended runtime and gradual dynamic build allow space for meditation, prayer, and response.
The track, which runs over seven minutes in its acoustic form, was released in April 2025 and is available now across all major streaming platforms.
