Halal Afrika - On Bended Knees

Halal Afrika, the visionary gospel collective dedicated to uniting Africa through worship, has officially released their highly anticipated live album, "On Bended Knees (Recorded Live in South Africa)" — a powerful 15-track worship experience that captures the raw, unfiltered presence of God. Released on April 10, 2026, the album is now available on all major streaming platforms.

A Milestone in African Gospel Music
Clocking in at 2 hours and 32 minutes, "On Bended Knees" represents Halal Afrika's most ambitious project to date. Recorded live in South Africa, the album brings together diverse voices, languages, and musical traditions from across the African continent, creating a distinctive sound that seamlessly blends authentic African culture with world-class production and exceptional musicianship.

The album follows the success of their 2023 release "Through It All" and continues their mission to craft a unique style of African Gospel music that transcends borders and resonates with global audiences.

A Collective Cry of Surrender
"HALAL" — a Hebrew word meaning "Praise" — defines the very essence of this project. "On Bended Knees" captures the posture of humility, reverence, and total surrender before God. From powerful chants to soul-stirring medleys, the album creates an atmosphere where worshippers can encounter the divine.

The project features an impressive lineup of collaborators, including South African gospel artist Takie Ndou on "South African Praise Medley" and the anointed vocal group Oncemore Six on "We Worship Adonai - Extended," showcasing Halal Afrika's commitment to highlighting both established and emerging voices in African gospel music.

Continuing a Legacy of Unity
Founded in 2016 by the Onn Brothers and a group of like-minded Africans in Maryland, USA, Halal Afrika has grown from a visionary concept into a movement that spans continents. Their first edition in Baltimore (2017) launched their debut album "My Best Worship," followed by "The Moment" (2019) in Victoria, South Africa, and "Through It All" (2022/2023) recorded in Pretoria.

"On Bended Knees" represents the next evolution of their vision — establishing Halal Afrika's presence across the globe while maintaining deep roots in African soil. The collective's aspiration remains clear: to lead many toward a deeper understanding of God and allow them to experience the abundant blessings that salvation offers.

Listeners are invited to experience this powerful worship journey and join the growing community of believers united in praise across Africa and beyond.
