The wall of Jericho was a great challenge standing in front of the children of Israel in Joshua chapter 6 verse 1. Jericho was strong, fortified, well-protected, strategically placed, and humanly impossible to conquer. The Bible says it was “securely shut up.” No one could enter. No one could leave. From a human perspective, Jericho was unreachable.

Many people today can relate to “Jericho moments.” Times when everything seems shut. You pray. You try. You wait. Yet nothing seems to open. Let this Bible study reminds you that sometimes, God allows doors to close so He can show His power.

Jericho’s walls were high and thick. Archaeological records confirm that they were massive.

But no wall is bigger than God. What looks like a mountain to you is small to God. What seems impossible to you is ordinary to Him. Jericho was not a problem to God, it was an opportunity for glory. Your problems are opportunity for God to show His glory through your life.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being the God who makes a way where there seems to be no way.

We bring every closed door, every obstacle, and every difficult situation before You.

Lord, help us not to lose faith when things seem blocked. Teach us to trust You when answers are delayed.

Give us patience, courage, and confidence in Your power.

Bring down every wall standing against our progress, peace, and purpose.

Let Your glory be revealed in our lives. Turn our challenges into testimonies.

We believe You are in control.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
