When God led Israel across the River Jordan on dry ground. This miracle was public. Everyone heard about it especially Israel’s enemies. The kings of the surrounding nations realized something important, God was fighting for Israel.
As soon as they heard what God had done, fear entered their hearts. Their confidence collapsed. Their strength disappeared. Before Israel fought any battle, God had already weakened their enemies. This shows us that God does not always fight the way we expect. Sometimes, He wins the battle before we even arrive.
The Bible says, “their hearts melted.” that means: Their plans failed.
Many people today face intimidating situations like toxic workplaces, hostile business environment, strong opposition, negative voices etc. if you are in any of these situations, God is telling you that He will use your life to perform a miracle that will scatter all their plans against you. The Bible says in Proverbs 21 verse 1: "The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord." If God can control kings, He can control circumstances around you.
Israel did not announce themselves. They did not threaten anyone. God’s work spoke for them. Their enemies heard what God had done. And they trembled. Your testimonies will open doors before you arrive. Psalm 126 verse 2 says: "Then they said among the nations, ‘The Lord has done great things for them.’"
Many people try to fight life battles only with human effort such as connections, money, skill, or strategy. We are different, we battle differently. Second Corinthians chapter 10 verse 4 reaffirm this. It says: "The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God."
Israel was once weak, tired, and wandering. Now, nations feared them.
Why?
God was with them.
If you've been look down on, or you've lost your confidence, it is time for you to rise up, why? God is with you! Romans chapter 8 verse 31 says: "If God is for us, who can be against us?"
This verse does not mean there will be no enemies. It means enemies will not prevail. People may doubt you, criticize you, or compete with you. But when God is backing you, their power is limited. You may not see it yet, but God is ahead of you. When God goes ahead, fear enters your enemies and peace enters your heart.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being our defender and our shield.
Thank You for going ahead of us and preparing our way. Thank You for fighting battles we cannot see.
Lord, help us to trust You even when situations look intimidating. Strengthen our faith when challenges appear strong.
Remove fear from our hearts. Fill us with confidence in Your power and presence.
Wherever we go—into new opportunities, new seasons, and new responsibilities—go before us.
Let Your favor surround us. Let Your power speak for us. Let Your peace rule our hearts.
We declare that You are with us, and we will not be afraid.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
