In Exodus chapter 36 verses 3 to 7, we see a remarkable moment in Israel’s journey. The people were building the tabernacle according to God’s instructions. As they brought their freewill offerings, something unusual happened: the resources became so abundant that Moses had to ask them to stop giving. There was more than enough to complete God’s work.
This passage reveals an important truth about divine provision: when God initiates an assignment, He also supplies everything needed to fulfill it. God never calls His people to a task without providing the resources, strength, and support required to complete it.
In today’s world, many believers worry about resources when starting ministries, businesses, community projects, or family responsibilities. This passage reminds us that if God has sent you, He will sustain you. Philippians chapter 4 verse 19 says: “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
The Israelites gave willingly, joyfully, and consistently. No one forced them. They were moved by gratitude for what God had done for them in Egypt. God’s provision often flows through willing people. He uses human hands to meet divine purposes. When hearts are aligned with God, generosity becomes natural.
In today’s society, where people often focus on personal accumulation, this passage challenges believers to give freely to God’s work. Giving is not about money alone, your time, your energy, and your skills are things you should give to God's work willingly. Second Corinthians chapter 9 verse 7 says: “Each one should give… not reluctantly or under compulsion.” (2 Corinthians 9:7). When hearts are aligned with God, generosity becomes natural.
One of the most powerful lessons in this passage is that God’s project did not suffer shortage. There was no delay because of lack. There was no unfinished section because of missing resources. This reminds us that God does not abandon what He begins. And your life is the work of God. So, every good things God had started in your life, He will complete them. The resources you need will come. Philippians chapter 1 verse 6 says: “He who has begun a good work in you will complete it.” He will definitely complete the good works He had started with your life.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for being our Provider. Thank You for meeting our needs and supplying us with strength, wisdom, and resources. We acknowledge that every good thing comes from You.
Help us to trust You when resources seem limited. Remove fear of lack from our hearts. Teach us to give willingly, serve faithfully, and depend completely on You.
May we never lack in fulfilling Your purpose for our lives. Let Your provision overflow in our homes, ministries, and daily responsibilities. Make us good stewards of everything You place in our hands.
We declare that You are more than enough for us.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
